Absolutely! Unlike aluminium and plastic bottles, the stainless steel we use to produce our reusable cups is naturally uncoated and ideal for holding and maintaining all types of liquids. Aluminium is not suitable for contact with food and drink (especially hot and acid ones), as it is highly toxic. Our products are made of 100% high quality 18/8 stainless steel and are BPA free.
No. All iglu products are made of stainless steel and are not safe to put in the microwave.
For all of our coloured cups, washing in the dishwasher is not recommended to avoid damaging or discolouring the paint. We recommend hand washing your iglu.
Your iglu Food Pot however is safe to put in the top shelf of your dishwasher.
iglu products should be cleaned regularly—we recommend washing your iglu cups and bottles with warm water and soap after every use and drying and storing it with the top off.
iglu cups and bottles are NOT dishwasher safe!
Running an iglu through the dishwasher can cause paint to fade and the vacuum seal to become ineffective.
After washing your iglu, we recommend that you dry your beverage container by airing it out upside down and storing it with the lid off. This will help keep your Iglu looking and smelling fresh
iglu lids are dishwasher safe (top shelf) or can be hand washed.
We refer to our coffee cups as being splash proof or spill proof. They generally offer good protection from spills and can be turned upside without water escaping.
Our 12oz coffee cup has a vacuum lid which can be susceptible to pressure build up (see our helpful tips for further information).
Our 16oz and 20oz coffee cups, aswell as our 350ml and 500ml bottles have screw lids for added protection.
As a first step, we always recommend testing your iglu with cold water over your kitchen sink to make sure everything is working as it should for added peace of mind.
Our products are thoughtfully designed in the United Kingdom and responsibly made in China.
To the best of our knowledge China is the leading authority of vacuum technology. Whilst other countries have the ability to make single walled steel products, it's the double walled/vacuum technology where China currently leads the way.

We’ll try our best. Probably the best place to start is that our 16oz and 20oz are the exact same design just a different volume capacity. So to keep it simple we’ll just reference the 16oz but know it’s the exact same for the 20oz.
Starting with the 12oz it is slightly wider at the hips which is where it’s great for fitting under the majority of coffee machines (dimensions) whether at home, in the office or on the high street. It utilises a vacuum lid (i.e. a push on lid with no screw mechanism). A lot of thought went into the lid and is actually our second generation lid. In designing ours and reviewing other vacuum lids currently for sale the biggest element we tried to tackle is that the majority of vacuum lids are either permanently open (i.e. a mouth piece like a take away cup) or visually they look like the seal but in reality they have a slide function but don’t seal (for example if you turned the cup over contents would poor out). The reason why they’re not sealed is because hot contents create pressure that can force the lid off. To tackle this we positioned an air hole in the middle of our lid (which is great for straws too) which allows you to keep open if your contents are piping hot (i.e. above 85 degrees). By being in the middle it means tea or coffee doesn’t splash out of your cup whilst walking and when its cooled down after a couple of minutes (below 85 degrees) the middle portion can be closed to make it splash proof.
By having a push on lid it means there’s no screw indentations on the cup so it’s perfect for drinking without the lid on too i.e. if you’re making a cuppa to take into a meeting with you. The double walled nature of the cup means it will still maintain heat much better than an ordinary mug (even without the lid on).
The pro’s of the 12oz coffee cup is it’s ability to fit under most coffee machines, a versatile lid making it ideal if you like to drink with and without the lid, great heat retention and a very beautiful design (we’re very biased). The things to be aware of is it has wide hips so it doesn’t fit all car cup holders (it’s a shame but all car manufacturers make different size cup holders so it’s impossible for us to tell you if it fits yours but … is the widest part if you need to check) and a vacuum lid isn’t as strong as a screw lid in fighting against pressure.
The 16oz and 20oz design has a screw lid which has a push function in the middle of the lid which opens and closes to allow you to drink from any angle. This is perfect for travel as you only need the one hand. They’re also slightly slimmer (…) meaning they fit most cupholders too. The integrated handle means they’re comfortable to carry and you can also attach it to your bag or rucksack with a carabiner. If your someone that’s using your coffee cup more on the go then the 16 and 20oz is probably the one for you. Without their lids on their height is … which is fine for most high street coffee machines but possibly too tall for home / office coffee machines. Our straw lids also fit the 16oz and 20oz making them very versatile.
We really hope this helped to show some of the differences between the two designs.
